We, the jury of the 11th Sama International Film Festival in Sweden watched 31 films from Afghanistan, Iran, India, Lebanon, France, Germany, Turkey, Denmark, Kazakhstan and Pakistan during the three days of the festival. Our efforts to judge the films were concentrated on the importance of the subject of the film, the type of narrative, and the consideration of the importance of the language and of the image and the cinema in the productions.
The criterion for us was not the filmmaker's gender, neither the region nor language, but only the criteria of a good film.
